Central American twining plant with edible roots and pods; large tubers are eaten raw or cooked especially when young and young pods must be thoroughly cooked; pods and seeds also yield rotenone and oils 中米の巻きつき植物で、根と莢は食用に適する。大きな塊茎は生で食べられるし、特に若いものは調理して食べるが、若いさやは完全に調理しなければならない。また、莢と種子からはロテノンと油がとれる。
