Old World fragrant stoloniferous perennial having small white flowers and narrow leaves used as flavoring and in sachets; widely cultivated as a ground cover; in some classifications placed in genus Asperula 調味料や、匂い袋に使用される、小さい白い花と、幅の狭い葉から成る、旧世界の薫り高い、匐枝を生じる多年草。地被植物として広く栽培されている。アスペルルート属のいくつかの分類に区分される。
